Implementation of ERP solution: cost reduction is top priority
Aberdeen Group reports that manufacturing companies implement an ERP solution primarily to
reduce costs, with the second most common reason being rapid growth in the company’s activities.
External pressure from customers or suppliers to implement a tool that improves collaboration
among the various stakeholders and the need to comply with certain industry regulations or practices
are also factors influencing the decision to implement such a solution.

Consolidate and standardize to reduce ERP support costs
According to a study by Computer Economics based on a survey of more than 100 ERP users, consolidation and standardization of
ERP systems can generate considerable added value for a business. Implementing these practices optimizes the costs incurred to
support the solution. For example, a company running a single version of an ERP application typically requires one support
employee for every 40 users, while a business running multiple versions of an ERP solution needs one support employee for
every 28 users.
